Fine Art

Peter Richards is also a painter.  His paintings have appeared on two separate album covers by critically-acclaimed Brooklyn, NY-based jazz saxophonist Pete Robbins (Do The Hate Laugh Shimmy and siLENT Z live).  The painting Walls Impede My Progress was selected as the cover art for NYC-based producer Rioux's E.P. re: you, which features a remix of Björk's song "Unison."  Below is a selection of artworks -- a separate website dedicated to Richards' fine art is on the horizon (at which point hopefully he'll stop riding the coattails of ITAV!).  Peter is co-director of Signs & Portents, an art loft in Lansing Michigan, with his wife and fellow painter Randi.

Preoccupations in this body of work include isometric cubes, icebergs, euphoric states, the hydrologic cycle, geology, and various abstract confusions of the life/death transition.  Works are in acrylic and mixed media.

Licenses for use and/or commissioned works are available on request.
